ABOUT JUDGE HAUTER
Hi, I'm Rashad

WHERE I COME FROM
I grew up in Vance County and moved to Wake County during law school. I am a proud husband and father. My oldest child just graduated law school and is an Assistant District Attorney in Wake County. Our youngest child is still running around in diapers and refuses to be potty trained.
Since graduating law school, I have committed myself to serving the people of Wake County in various capacities.
My first job out of law school was with Colon Willoughby as an Assistant District Attorney. I then served as a Statewide Prosecutor for the Conference of District Attorneys where I traveled to over 20 counties. I later entered private practice and opened up an office in my hometown of Henderson and an office in Downtown Raleigh.
I was appointed as a District Court Judge in 2021 and elected to a full term in 2022. As Judge, I have served in Family Court, Civil Court, Criminal Court, Felony District Court, Domestic Violence Court, and DWI Court. I have presided over thousands of bench trials and some jury trials. I have always treated every person who appears before me with integrity, respect, and impartiality while always keeping the safety of our community in mind.
With 15 years of experience as a Wake County Prosecutor, Statewide Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor, private attorney, and District Court Judge, I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that has shaped me.
